Quality Assurance Analyst
Responsible to: Senior Quality Assurance Analyst
Team: Product & Engineering
Term: Permanent
Pay point: C
Market supplement: 4
Hours: 36 hours per week (if full-time – flexible arrangements will be considered. Our core working days are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, to allow effective collaboration time with colleagues).
Line management responsibility: None
Budget responsibility: None
DBS: An enhanced DBS check is required for this role.
Responsibilities
Validating product behaviour of new features from a user perspective and improving feature definitions by providing a QA perspective.
Communicating and promoting quality as a culture across the engineering, design and product functions.
Exploratory testing of user facing web apps, internal content creation tools and AI-enabled curricula and teaching resources.
As a member of the Oak Team, contribute to the planning and culture of the organisation.
Work in cross-functional and product-oriented squads with colleagues from across the organisation, as required.
Support all work across the Product team and take on other general responsibilities as required.
Knowledge, skills, and experience
Knowledge of testing web or mobile-based applications, including exploratory testing, triaging bug reports, identifying common threads in multiple bug reports, and creating well-structured bug reports with appropriate evidence and steps to reproduce.
An understanding of accessibility concerns for web applications, and how to assess them.
The ability to design tests and work without test scripts or formal specifications.
Familiarity with agile processes such as user stories, acceptance criteria and working in sprints with colleagues from other teams.
The successful candidate will have a desire to contribute in all areas to ensure Oak is successful. You will be comfortable working at pace, with a range of digital systems (including proprietary ones as required) and you will continuously look at ways that the team can keep getting better. You will be excellent at working as part of a remote team, building relationships and managing your time effectively.
