Job Description

The Brandeis School of San Francisco is a K-8 school community that inspires students to lead lives of learning and purpose. Brandeis is seeking a full-time, on-site Events Coordinator for the 2023-24 school year. 

Position Title: Events Coordinator

FLSA Classification: Temporary One Year Position/Full Time-Exempt

Position Purpose:  The Brandeis School of San Francisco is seeking a pro-active, detail-oriented person to assist with special events and event programming during the 2023-2024 school year


Events include but are not limited to

  • 60th anniversary events for young alumni, alumni, and community members

  • Grandparents & Special Friends Day

  • Spring Fundraising gala

  • Donor Leadership event

  • Town Hall Community event

  • Alumni and school community oriented events

  • Graduation


Essential Functions


Assist with the development and execution of on and off-campus events, from inception through to post-event follow up

Assist with tracking RSVPs and special requests from guests

Assist with vendor (rentals, catering, etc.) relations, including sourcing new vendors when necessary

Overseeing the setting up and on-site preparation of events, including working with the Facilities department 

Establishing monthly action plan and status reports to track on progress and event results 

Staffing events at school and at off-site venues

Manage timeline and budgets effectively

Assist with marketing, (non-professional) video and photography, and social media;

Collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including parents, alumni, former parents, trustees, and donors to Brandeis.


Qualifications


Bachelor’s degree required

Strong writing and communication skills

Outstanding organizational and project management skills

Ability to juggle competing deadlines and priorities 

Ability to adhere to meet deadlines, and help keep others on track to meet deadlines

Ability to work well with multiple stakeholders

Creative, friendly, and welcoming; experience with front-facing roles

Experience with community engagement

Familiarity with Bay Area Jewish community and culture


Physical Requirements and Work Environment


Late nights and weekends as needed for event planning, coordinating, and execution 

Regularly sit, stand, talk, and listen through events

Able to lift up to 40 lbs, assist with room setup and rearrangement where needed

Able to bend, lift, and use a ladder
