Job Description

PURPOSE OF ROLE

As Medical Services Lead for Disability Cricket, to maximise the availability and wellness of all players by leading Science and Medicine support across the four impairment group pathways: Blind/Visually Impaired, Deaf/Hearing Impaired, Physical Disability and Learning Disability.

As Lead Physiotherapist for the Men's Pathway, deliver high-quality physiotherapy support to the Young Lions/England Under-19s programme and co-management of individual players with their County and other stakeholders to contribute to their cricketing and personal development.

YOU’LL BE DOING

Medical Services Lead for Disability Cricket

  • Management, co-ordination and quality assurance of Science and Medicine support to maximise the availability and wellness of all players across the Disability Cricket Pathway.

  • Progress alignment of medical services, drive performance, manage assigned budgets and ensure required ECB standards of governance and Duty of Care are met.

  • There will be significant focus on physiotherapy provision and the postholder will deliver directly, as well as oversee consultant practitioners providing this service, at training camps and competitive series, both at home and abroad.

  • Act as a player advocate and provide a link/ensure communication between the National Squad management teams and the players’ support networks. 

Men's Pathway Physiotherapist

  • Deliver Physiotherapy support including competitive Young Lions series (both home and abroad) and Under-19 training camps/programmes/associated activities.

  • Oversee Science & Medicine support to age group programmes and associated activities.

  • Working collaboratively with County colleagues and other stakeholders to optimise the support and resources available to identified players.

  • Contribute to driving forwards the standards of injury management and physical preparation across professional Men’s Cricket, particularly at the County Academy and Pathway levels.

  • Support Injury Surveillance and Physical Performance projects to ensure competitive advantage for England Cricket.

YOU’LL HAVE (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)

  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

  • Current membership with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP)

  • Current Advanced Trauma Management/Emergency Care accreditation (equivalent to the ECB Cricket Trauma Management Course)

  • Experience managing a multi-disciplinary team

  • Demonstrable effective clinical decision-making and high-quality physiotherapy treatment skills

  • Practical knowledge of injury rehabilitation and prevention training

  • Understanding of injury surveillance and workload monitoring methods

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Enhanced DBS Check
