Job Description

We’re introducing this exciting role to oversee the delivery of our South Asian Action Plan (SAAP) and the wider plan for urban cricket. Delivering the South Asian Action plan is a key part of our Inspiring Generations strategy alongside a wider focus on developing cricket in urban areas, bringing together, schools, professional teams, facilities investment and recreational support.

Central to the success of the implementation of the South-Asian Action Plan and wider diverse communities’ agenda, is to support the cities and the County network to implement the key learnings of the SAAP to ensure cricket remains at the forefront of inclusion and diversity in sport. Additionally, galvanising the thousands of cricket clubs, leagues and communities behind this plan to ensure the long-term health and prosperity of the recreational game is a core part of the responsibility of this role.

YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Supporting the ongoing review, refinement and implementation of the South Asian Action Plan.

  • Supporting the ECB central teams to ensure that all national initiatives are designed and implemented in a way that maximises cricket’s opportunities with diverse communities. 

  • Working with cities to develop and deliver individual citywide plans that bring together cricket stakeholders and activity.

  • Understanding the different opportunities and challenges across England and Wales – particularly in urban areas, to support the delivery of Inspiring Generations in diverse communities.

 

YOU’LL HAVE

  • Excellent communication skills and have experience driving collaboration across multiple stakeholder groups.

  • Instinctive leadership skills with a proven track record of influencing and managing people with and without reporting lines.

  • An adaptable working style with high quality emotional intelligence.

  • An excellent understanding of the needs of diverse communities and how cricket can have an increased relevance.

  • An understanding of the cricket network and challenges the game faces across different areas of England and Wales.

  • Good listening skills complimented by the ability to have difficult conversations.

  • A contagious passion for cricket or recreational sport.
