Job Description
Senior Quality Assurance Analyst
Responsible to: Head of Product Strategy
Team: Product & Engineering
Term: Permanent
Hours: 36 hours per week (if full-time – flexible arrangements will be considered. Our core working days are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, to allow effective collaboration time with colleagues).
Line management responsibility: Quality Assurance Team
Budget responsibility: None
DBS: An enhanced DBS check may be required for this role.
Responsibilities
Championing quality as a culture across the organisation.
Validating product behaviour of new features from a user perspective and improve feature definitions by providing a QA perspective.
Exploratory testing of user facing web apps and internal content creation and management tools.
Responsible for the continuous improvement of quality assurance processes for Oak’s product development.
Develop and manage a high performing quality assurance team.
As a member of the Oak Team, contribute to the planning and culture of the organisation.
Work in cross-functional and product oriented squads with colleagues from across the organisation, as required.
Deputise for the Head of Product Strategy and take on other general responsibilities as required.
Knowledge, skills and experience
3+ years holding responsibility for the continuous improvement of quality assurance processes.
Experience of recruiting, developing and managing a high performing team of Quality Assurance analysts.
Knowledge of testing web or mobile based applications, including exploratory testing, triaging bug reports, identifying common threads in multiple bug reports, and creating well-structure bug reports with appropriate evidence and steps to reproduce.
An understanding of assessing accessibility for web applications, and how to assess them against accepted standards.
The ability to design tests and work without test scripts or formal specifications.
Familiarity with agile processes such as user stories, acceptance criteria and working in sprints with colleagues from other teams.
The successful candidate will have a desire to contribute in all areas to ensure Oak is successful. You will be comfortable working at pace, with a range of digital systems (including proprietary ones as required) and you will continuously look at ways that the team can keep getting better. You will be excellent at working as part of a remote team, building relationships and managing your time effectively.
