Salary: £47,237 plus £3,276 London Weighting if applicable per annum (£18,894.80 plus £1,310.40 London Weighting if applicable per annum pro rata) 

Hours: 15 hours per week, 2 days per week (open to alternative working patterns)  

Contract: 12 Months FTC (Maternity Cover) with potential to extend. 

Based: London / open to home-based from other UK locations with ability to travel to London, some remote working possible

Purpose 

In a dynamic and values-driven environment, this is an exciting role with a combination of shaping the fundraising strategy, pursuing specific high-value opportunities, and building the fundraising capacity of a wider team of colleagues in different departments. This role reports to the Director of Finance and Operations and sits in the HQ team alongside our communications and campaign functions. At Citizens UK, fundraising is a shared responsibility across teams and we have a growing income base from a range of sources. This role will provide expertise and coordination to maximise the fundraising success of colleagues in different teams, while also supporting and/or leading on some cross-organisation major opportunities. We are looking for someone with some experience and knowledge of fundraising, particularly with UK grants and foundations, and someone who’s keen to bring their expertise and skills together with others to achieve success. 

Main Responsibilities 

Working as a Senior Fundraising Manager for Citizens UK, your main responsibilities will include: 

Contribute to Citizens UK and project strategic objectives 

  • Identify fundraising opportunities for Citizens UK. 

  • Play a lead role or a supportive role depending on the nature of those opportunities. 

  • Provide expertise and coordination support to colleagues in different teams as they fundraise.   

  • Shape the fundraising strategy at Citizens UK. 

Build and manage projects and achieve work targets effectively 

  • Develop and maintain the funder tracking and relationship management system, using AirTable. 

Learning, expertise, wellbeing and inclusion 

  • Further develop a hub of key documents and best practice for fundraising.  

  • Build up and maintain knowledge of the fundraising environment and how it fits with Citizens UK.  

  • Display awareness of Diversity, Equality and Inclusion issues and how they relate to fundraising opportunities. 

Develop and manage external relationships 

  • Identify funder relationships (current and potential) where there are opportunities for growth and seek to match with Citizens UK Chapters, campaigns and projects. 

  • Help build relationships with new funders. 

Communications 

  • Act as a coordination point for fundraising across the organisation. 

  • Share opportunities, successes and lessons across the organisation. 

  • Represent the organisation effectively internally and externally. 

Develop and manage internal relationships 

  • Coordinate collation and dissemination of funding related information between teams across the organisation.  

  • Coordinate funder relationships and opportunities across the organisation, acting as the key point of contact for colleagues. 

Generate income and resources 

  • Enable and coordinate significant funding bids across the organisation. 

  • Shape the fundraising strategy and help build fundraising capacity at Citizens UK.
