Job Description


We are looking for a new colleague to join our Operations Team. We are seeking an expert in human resources and employment law who wants to help us build our culture of Freedom, Responsibility and Continuous Improvement. We are a mission-led organisation that exists to improve pupil outcomes and close the disadvantage gap by raising the quality of the curriculum that teachers and pupils access.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the continuous improvement of human resource processes across Oak.

  • Manage the people budget.

  • Work across Oak enabling the delivery of Oak’s mission through recruitment, on-boarding and employee experience.

  • Lead on all transactional human resources work for Oak.

  • Maximise organisational effectiveness through enabling and empowering managers across Oak to support their teams and colleagues to do their life’s best work.

  • Maintain specialist expertise in human resources and Employment Law and be the authority across Oak whilst drawing on external expertise where needed.

  • As a member of the Oak Team, contribute to the planning and culture of the organisation.

  • Work in cross-functional and product oriented squads with colleagues from across the organisation, as required.

  • Deputise for the Head of Operations and take on other general responsibilities as required.

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • 5+ years experience in leading the continuous improvement of a human resources department.

  • Experience of managing a 5 figure budget.

  • Experienced in recruiting and developing a high performing organisation.

  • Proven experience in listening skills and communication with empathy.

  • Collaborative and innovative approach to continuous improvement.

  • Authority in employment law. Ideally you will hold a law qualification with a specialism in employment law (desirable).
