Job Description

PURPOSE

An exciting opportunity to become an England Women Physiotherapy Consultant for our U19 squad as they prepare for the U19 World Cup in January 2025 held in Malaysia. In combination with the England Women and domestic SS&M teams, you will deliver high quality healthcare and physiotherapy during the preparation and performance phases for an England Women U19 squad.

The England Women U19 overseas tour to Malaysia will provide opportunities in an inspirational development environment with competitive exposure at International level for players deemed with the highest potential to play for England Women in the future, as well as players with key potential to further their career within the domestic game.

This England Women U19 Physiotherapy role will maximise player availability via effective injury management and injury prevention through multidisciplinary team working. They will work closely with the programme CMO and wider England Women SS&M team.

The role will require availability for weekend camps in preparation for the U19 World Cup in January 2025. Camp dates will be discussed at interview, but these will run from the end of October.

YOU’LL LOVE THIS JOB IF

You have a passion for delivering high quality physiotherapy care and enjoy working within a multidisciplinary team.

YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Lead the physiotherapy delivery of an exciting England Women U19 programme for the players perceived to have the highest potential to be England Women cricketers of the future.

  • Advocate for high quality healthcare in an elite cricket setting.

  • Maximise player availability via effective injury management and prevention strategies.

  • Work collaboratively with the Sports Medicine Doctor to ensure high levels of clinical care, wellbeing/mental health and women’s health support.

  • Support the delivery of physical profiling of England Women U19 players in collaboration with ECB staff

  • Complete regular monitoring of players using Insight 360 and feedback to SS&M and coaching staff to maximise player development through the preparation phase.

  • Work collaboratively with domestic SS&M teams to ensure players receive optimal levels of support.

  • Contribute to a robust review process of the England Women U19 programme following the completion of the series.

  • Ensure high levels of medical governance, including excellent medical record keeping

YOU’LL HAVE

Essential criteria:

  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP)

  • Undergraduate degree in Physiotherapy

  • At least 5 years of experience of working independently as a qualified physiotherapist within musculoskeletal physiotherapy

  • At least 2 years of experience of working in elite level sport including the provision of physiotherapy services to high performance teams.

  • Current advanced trauma management and emergency care accreditation

  • High standards of personal and professional integrity

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Full Driving License.

Desirable:

  • Post-Graduate degree

  • Previous experience of working in cricket
