Job Description

Purpose of the post

HDR UK requires the services of an experienced Cloud DevOps engineer to work within its technology team, working on the Health Data Gateway and other software developed by HDR UK. You will primarily but not exclusively be working to enhance the Gateway to support our brain health initiatives.  These include NEURii, the Alzheimer’s Disease Data Initiative Data Pilots, Motor Neuron Disease (MND), Traumatic Brain injury hub and a collaboration between UK Dementia Research Institute (UK DRI), HDR UK and Medicines Discovery Catapult (MDC), the Dementia Trials Accelerator (DTA).  The DTA initiative is funded by the MRC, NIHR and the Office for Life Sciences designed to enable the UK Government Dementia Mission, with a vision to rapidly position the UK as the destination of choice for investment and innovation in the delivery of clinical trials of new therapies for dementia, rapidly delivering significant patient and NHS benefits.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that will develop an over-arching interoperable infrastructure that seeks to bring together dementia related UK data assets and ensures they are Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reuseable (FAIR) and can support identification of relevant patient cohorts for participation in clinical trials. The successful candidate will be expected to work within an Agile software development team, providing pipelines and processes to support the Dementia Trails Accelerator Portal.  This role will work closely with the existing cloud and devops staff to integrate new pipelines and processes into the broader HDR UK infrastructure, and be responsible for building, automating and testing systems.
