Job Description

CogCo is looking to appoint an Associate Behavioural Scientist.

In this role, you would be expected to support the work we undertake with a range of different companies, working to a more senior colleague who will manage the overall project.

You will do so as part of a multi-disciplinary team, which will include behavioural scientists, data scientists and designers.

You will have a very good knowledge of the behavioural science literature, and how its insights can be practically applied.

Some examples of work you might be asked to support include (though we don’t expect a single candidate to necessarily be able to do all of the following things):

  • Support projects by helping to generate new behaviourally-informed solutions; participating in meetings and conversations with our partner companies; and meeting project timelines and budgets.

  • Conduct literature reviews for partner projects by reviewing the behavioural science literature and identifying key themes and insights

  • Conduct behavioural audits of products, apps and platforms by assessing features and making recommendations based on the behavioural science literature.

  • Support experiment and survey work by generating design ideas, and helping to communicate the findings

  • Write-up and visualise the results and findings from projects and experiments in a clear and succinct way through charts, written reports and slide decks.

  • Contribute to a strand of work as part of our ongoing programme of identifying new ways in which CogCo can improve its internal ways of working (existing examples include the way we give and receive feedback; how we use rewards; and how we do performance development).

All candidates must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • An academic background in a relevant field (e.g. behavioural science, psychology, economics), or equivalent experience in a recent role.

  • Experience of working as part of a team, including delivering work to tight deadlines for a client

  • Good project management skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to independently deliver high quality work to a tight deadline, feeding into the wider work being undertaken as part of a team

The following is desirable but not essential:

  • Experience in developing online behavioural experiments and/or quantitative surveys
