Job Description
Introduction to the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the bright and innovative marketing team at HarperCollins Children’s Books. We are the home to many blockbuster and bestselling household names, such as David Walliams, Michael Morpurgo, Derek Landy, Oliver Jeffers, David Baddiel, Hannah Gold, Narnia, Paddington Bear and Judith Kerr.
The Marketing Executive will work closely with the Marketing Manager and the wider team in a key role for the marketing of YA, fiction, picture books, properties and young fiction across our full list. The role will work closely with all internal teams to develop highly creative consumer and retail marketing campaigns across physical, digital and audio products.
Key Tasks and Accountabilities:
Drive sales of key titles and brands by supporting end-to-end consumer marketing campaigns
Create and own marketing campaigns on a tight budget that achieve impact and cut through
Brief marketing assets across socials, digital, radio, OOH, print and events
Effectively communicate marketing campaigns to key stakeholders
Implement and maintain creative social strategy and content plans that engage our audiences
Demonstrate an understanding of competitors’ strengths and trends to ensure continuous competitive advantage
Actively promote an audience-first way of thinking and show understanding of our consumers, their needs, motivations and influences
Undertake campaign analysis, share learnings and support the team by inputting into future strategies
Deliver all marketing initiatives within agreed timelines and to budget
In the first six months you will...
Establish yourself as an integral part of the HCCB marketing team
Successfully support multiple high profile marketing campaigns
Support brand strategy to successfully grow our key brands
Demonstrate evidence-based evaluation for marketing activity
Experience Required:
Consumer marketing and / or brand management experience
Experience managing multiple, competing priorities, including stakeholder expectations
Digital marketing experience across owned and earned channels
A keen interest or knowledge of the children’s book market
Skills Required:
Exceptional written and oral communication skills with a forensic eye for detail
Problem-solving with strong analytical skills, strategic thinking and operational acumen
Strong relationship building skills and a collaborative team player
Adaptable, thriving in a fast-paced, changing environment
Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills
