Job Description
Introduction to the role
The Education Sales Consultant will be responsible for building relationships with schools and teachers within their territory to sell Collins books and digital resources for schools.
The successful candidate will need to be based in the Nottinghamshire or Lincolnshire areas in order to cover the assigned territory
The purpose of the role is to meet sales targets and work closely with the Sales Team Leader and Head of Schools Sales to ensure the best sales strategy is in place.
This role is home based and will require travel around the territory. A company car, laptop and mobile phone are provided. A full driving license is required.
Key tasks and accountabilities
To manage sales for the sales territory, maintenance of accounts, and related administration Visit teachers, Heads of Departments, subject co-ordinators and/or LA Advisors and develop/maintain strong relationships
Develop and maintain a good knowledge and understanding of curriculum requirements and how Collins products support them
Grow sales of Collins titles in schools and education establishments, achieving (and ideally exceeding) sales targets
Develop relationships and increase business with existing Collins user schools
Ensure targets for the number of schools evaluating Collins resources are met
Secure new adoptions of Collins resources in schools and education establishments
Ensure targets for schools visited are met
Use email and telesales appropriately to support face to face selling
Attend industry events/exhibitions and teacher meetings when necessary
Attend training days, sales meetings and conferences when necessary
Your first six months
Build relationships with existing accounts within your territory
Be well versed on the companies range of books and digital products
Working on business development with new accounts/schools
Experience required
Previous experience within a sales role
Familiar with Microsoft programmes
Knowledge of the UK education system
Skills required
Customer service and relationship building skills
Negotiation skills
Excellent communication skills
Knowledge on presenting to clients and pitching new products
Full UK Driving Licence
