Job Description

PURPOSE

This role will provide HR generalist business partner-level support to the business, with specific support to senior manager level and below.

You will be partnering with managers to deliver holistic end to end people support in line with the ECBs business goals and values. The role will provide first-class advice and support, drive continuous improvements to support our cultural transformation, and coach and guide managers to improve their people management skills.

The Senior People Consultant will work across various projects and BAU in partnership with other members of the People Team to design, deliver and implement people solutions aligned to the business strategy.

YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Collaborating with managers to fully understand their key objectives, drivers, issues, and associated people requirements for both the current and future business challenges.

  • With the support of the Head of HR, be leading on and delivering organisational design and carry through change projects including restructures.

  • Promoting the ECBs commitment to Diversity and Inclusion by working with managers to create a more diverse and inclusive workforce.  

  • Designing, drafting and implementing HR policies and projects that are aligned with the broader business plans and reflect good practice.

  • Providing expert professional advice and coaching on the implementation of HR policy to ensure they are delivered in a legally compliant way.

  • Providing advice, coaching and feedback, challenging where needed, to ensure managers consistently live the ECB’s values and bring them to life for their teams.

  • Effectively case managing employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, flexible working, and performance management plans. You will be supporting managers in assessing and managing risk and advising them on the application of employment legislation.

  • Managing maternity / shared parental / wellbeing / sickness cases with managers and employees.

  • Collaborating with other People Team members to develop innovative, timely and cost-effective best practice HR.

  • Responsible for the management and development of the People Adviser.

  • Checking all paperwork / contracts/ letters to be issued & cross referencing with monthly payroll.

  • Developing suite of templates/ documents / policies and processes.

  • Project-managing ad hoc projects to support the business strategy and goals.

  • Developing content and delivering management skills workshops.

YOU’LL HAVE

  • Previous experience in a HR business partnering or Senior HR advisory role

  • You will be professionally recognised by CIPD (or equivalent)

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to quickly build trusting and respected relationships

  • Experience of agile working and ability to demonstrate a growth mindset

  • A proven skillset in coaching and mentoring and giving feedback

  • Excellent influencing and communication skills

  • Experience of leading complex and multiple projects, with strong evidence of project management skills

  • Experience of organisational design

  • World-class organisation skills and attention to detail

  • Experience of fully managing complex employee relations cases
