Job Description

The post

At HDR UK, we are looking for talented and high potential full stack software engineers to help shape the next stage of our suite of technology products including the Health Data Research Gateway, Safe People Registry and Cohort Discovery Service. Not only will you drive the future development of these services but also adapt them to support new research communities, data types, and use cases. You will work with leading web frameworks and utilise AI-Augmented development practices. This is an opportunity to build products that have real-world impact on health research across the UK. If you're excited by the prospect of solving complex technical challenges while contributing to research that benefits society and improves people's lives, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll do

Build End-to-End

You’ll own features from conception to deployment – working across content management, web portals, APIs, data visualisation and third-party integrations

Champion Quality

Write performant, testable, well-documented code. Lead on code reviews, while upholding internal standards and drive continuous improvement across the codebase.

Grow Community

Engage with national and international bodies, contribute to the Research Software Engineering community, and help upskill the HDR UK technical network.

Lead Features

Take ownership of whole features – breaking down requirements into user stories, give technical feedback to shape the design, and seeing implementation through to release.

Enable Partners

Guide and collaborate with external partners on integrating with our platforms – translating complex technical concepts for a range of audiences.

Empower the future

Help build the national infrastructure that unlocks health data for research and shape how a global scientific community accesses and uses it to improve people's lives.
