Job Description
Purpose of the Role
To provide vital administrative support to the Rights Director, Fiction and the Head of Rights, Fiction. This role is fast-paced and varied, requiring accuracy and attention to detail. You will be contributing to a key commercial division of HarperCollins and working across international markets.
Key Accountabilities
General support and administrative back up
Assisting in preparation for book fairs and sales trips, including scheduling meetings
Dealing with telephone and written rights queries
Creating and drafting contracts
Managing and updating the rights database
Cover art sales
Creating and updating rights guides
Working with the Rights Director to manage the process of selling rights into the US and Germany
Working with the Head of Rights to manage the process of selling rights into their territories
General administrative support to the team selling Fiction rights
Coordinate work with the Global Publishing Program
Manage our social media account (Twitter) and online content, in collaboration with the department’s other Rights Executive and Assistants (training will be provided).
Drafting submission letters for Global Publishing Program and third-party submissions
Drafting publicity round-up newsletters in rotation with other Rights Assistants
Skills and Experience Required:
Some knowledge or experience of administration
Keen interest in publishing rights
Excellent time management and organisation skills
Able to support and work within a team
Excellent attention to detail
