Job Description

the opportunity

We’re looking for a Junior Graphic Designer to join our in-house creative team within Marketing.

eve Sleep is at a really crucial crossroads, moving from the world of a start-up into a ‘scale-up’. Moving into our teenage/young adult years, if you will, with all the challenges that come with that and really starting to cement who we are as a brand.

We have the strong bones of a great brand, but it’s time to put some meat on them, grow and develop; this role is integral to doing that. We have ambitious plans and a huge amount of energy within our teams to achieve our goals.

As part of a team of 5, you will be reporting to the Creative Director and will work closely with them to lead the brand's future direction as a sleep wellness business.

As a Junior Graphic Designer, you’ll be an integral part of a wider creative team with whom you’ll need to develop a tight bond.

You’ll also be working with all areas of the creative/marketing team and the wider business to develop a clear creative direction to be used across multiple marketing channels in the UK and France.

day to day stuff: -

  • Working alongside the Creative Director to deliver the eve brand across all channels in all formats, always considering the eve DNA and solidifying our brand codes to build a rock-solid creative expression for eve.

  • Use the brand guidelines to design, produce and critique creative work that is effective and on-brand. You are a brand guardian and need to ensure all work across the team is brand building (not brand-damaging or brand neutral).

  • Build strong relationships and collaborate with part of a wider creative team you’ll need to develop a tight bond.

  • Collaborate and work with the wider marketing and eve sleep team to produce creative content that reflects our brand and strategy.

  • Work on both specific campaigns to drive brand awareness and consideration and the drumbeat of all the BAU activity.

  • Own and develop creative projects from initial brief to final execution and supply of assets.

what we will love about you: -

  • A self-starter, full of energy and a contagious ambition to build the best brand we can.

  • Understanding and experience of the design process and how to move through it step by step systematically. You’ll have a positive in-house agency mentality, championing the skills sitting within the business and delivering top classwork.

  • Possess a wide range of skills to deliver creativity - including graphic design, digital/performance asset design.

  • Obsessive about creativity, excellent attention to detail and a deep understanding of what goes into building a strong and effective brand.

  • Experience in designing and creating BTL (Below the Line) assets such as email, inserts, performance ads.

  • Expertise in email/CRM programme best practices would be advantageous.

  • Fluent in relevant Adobe Creative Cloud tools (e.g. Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.), asset/photo management software, and Microsoft office.

  • A natural in being systematic in how you approach a brief, whatever size that may be. You’ll be as comfortable in concept development as you are in rolling out a design/campaign across numerous assets.

  • Always keen to push the brand’s creative excellence, think ahead, and spot opportunities for brand building.

  • We’re a small team; everyone needs to work and support one another. You’ll be rewarded with a real understanding of how your work has impacted the business.

  • We pivot faster than our dancing sloth here at eve, so you will need to be flexible and okay with change, staying clear on strategy and priorities.

  • We care and respect each other at eve and look for those who do the same whilst building and maintaining relationships with others.

  • Building the eve culture is important to us, and we look for those who are passionate about what we are doing, contribute to this and are eager to join us on the journey of sleep wellness.

    what you’ll love about us

Aside from the job role, the people and our culture, we have a few other things that make eve a pretty fantastic place to be:

  • No more sleepless nights. Once you have passed probation, you will receive an eve mattress and pillow on us. Believe us, and you will never have been so excited about a mattress and pillow. There’s also a generous staff discount and one for family and friends, too.

  • Looking after you. You’ll have the choice to sign up for private health insurance with Vitality on completion of probation. We’ll cover the cost while you enjoy 24/7 online GPs, access to great medical care, incentive points to get fit or stay fit, and some seriously cool discounts.

  • Flexible hours. Being a sleep wellness company, we know that people tend to be either an early bird or a night owl or something in-between. That’s why we have flexible hours to help everyone be the very best version of themselves (and catch those extra zzz’s).

  • Hybrid working. We know working away from the office comes with its benefits; better work-life balance and more flexibility. So, it seems silly to take that all away, and we’ve introduced a hybrid way of working.

  • Holiday. You’ll get 25 days a year, excluding Bank Holidays. And, we’ll give you an extra day’s holiday every year after you’ve worked with us for 2 years, up to a maximum of 30 days. Nice, eh?

  • Birthday day. Fancy an extra day off on your special day? We give you a day’s annual leave in addition to your 25 days on your birthday. Make sure you celebrate in style.

  • Grow with us. We’re passionate about your growth, and throughout each year, we want to champion (and understand) your personal development goals. We also host personal and professional learning opportunities.

  • Cycle to work scheme. We believe in your overall wellness and want to support where we can. So, after 3 months with us, you can apply to our Cycle to Work scheme and invest in some seriously cool wheels.

  • Sharing is caring. We’re not afraid to talk about mental health and believe it’s a basic human right to feel supported. That’s why we work with Spill, a remote mental health service that provides support in all different shapes and sizes. This one’s on us, so use it to your heart’s content.

  • Culture champs. The word culture is thrown around these days. But we live for ours. That’s why we’ve got a team of proactive culture champs who plan fun stuff that brings us all together. So whether it’s a remote cooking lesson, a brain gym sesh or a surprise in the post, we’ve got a smashing culture that gives back on the reg. And we’re pretty damn proud of it.

  • Wednesday brekkie. When we’re in the office, we set you up with a healthy breakfast every Wednesday morning to fuel you through the day.

  • Wednesday drinks. What better way to get over hump week with a gathering tipple? Some weeks we host games, and other weeks we have a general chinwag.

  • Not your typical bonus. Our people enjoy the same financial bonus, regardless of experience, salary or seniority. This is just one way we’re smashing inclusivity.

  • Share the love. We’re always on the lookout for talented people to join the eve team. So if you recommend someone for a role we are recruiting for, and they’re successful, you’ll receive £500 once they complete their 3-month probation. Nice.

  • Simply The Best. We’re not afraid to champion each others’ successes, which is why we hold monthly Simply The Best nominations and recognitions to shine a light on successes across the business, no matter how big or small.

  • Doggy friendly. Yup, you read that right. Our workplace is doggy friendly, so some of our team bring their furry friends in a few days a week.
