Job Description

 This role is offered on a hybrid contract giving you the opportunity to also work from home three days a week.

​​Purpose of job:​ 

The purpose of this role is to support Head of Finance and Financial Planning and Analysis team with the organisation’s continuous improvement journey to a best-in-class reporting and modelling solution with aspirations of a self-serving platform in Workday Adaptive. The FP&A Systems Manager is an ‘expert’ user with knowledge to configure and maintain the modelling solution, comfortable with data mapping and coding, able to develop end-user reporting templates, deliver super-user and end-user training culminating with a comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures manual.  

 

​​Key responsibilities: ​ 

  • Produce BAU monthly and Board reporting packs from Workday Adaptive  

  • Support Head of Finance and Finance Business Partners with financial modelling and scenario planning ensuring robust underlying models in Workday Adaptive  

  • Review and suggest practical changes to coding and data mapping to enhance reporting function 

  • Support Head of Finance and Finance Business Partners in planning and creating a roadmap for a self-service end-user delivery.  

  • Actively participate in team events and solution finding 

  • Collaborate with Finance Business Partners on developing user-friendly templates in Workday Adaptive for end-users  

  • Support Finance Business Partners and Directorate stakeholders on their own super-user and end-user training and development on Workday Adaptive 

  • Act as interim Domain Administrator on Workday Adaptive and train incoming FP&A Lead  

  • Liaise with the Finance Systems Lead on systems roadmap for maintenance and upgrade  

  • Support on any Workday Adaptive queries and ad hoc information requests  

  • Produce comprehensive Standard Operating Procedure documentation 

 

​​Person specification​ 

​​Essential criteria​ 

  • Expert super-user on Workday Adaptive Insight  

  • Fully qualified accountant with relevant post qualification experience, with a strong understanding of financial processes and systems  

  • Knowledge of Charities SORP, statutory accounting regulations, VAT (including exempt, partial exemption, and reverse charges), PAYE and other payroll taxes, and Gift Aid. 

  • Experience producing monthly and board reports 

  • Strong financial modelling and scenario planning skills, ensuring accuracy and robustness in models  

   

Desirable Criteria 

  • Experience of working effectively in cross-functional teams. 

  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to participate in solution-driven team discussions 

  • Experience in finance systems maintenance and upgrades, working with system leads 

  • Familiarity with Workday Adaptive enhancements and best practices
