Job Description
Farshore is looking for an experienced Designer to join its market leading licensed publishing division. Our list boasts the biggest brands in the world such as Minecraft, Pokémon, Sonic the Hedgehog, Hasbro, Beano, Genshin Impact and Match Attax. The Designer will have a passion for this area and be able to bring knowledge, authority and creative excellence to the role.
Key Responsibilities
To design and develop appropriately targeted books for children and inspire them to read – in line with the publishing strategy for your area
Delivering books to production on time and within a set budget
Management of: budgets, planning, workloads, schedules, reprints, origination, freelance and commissioning. Excellent verbal and written communication.
To have relevant consumer, trend and market awareness in order to help develop new concepts
To have an expert knowledge of brands assigned to lead on
To positively represent and promote Farshore (ie. licensor, agent, author care; social media)
Skills Required
Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
To have relevant consumer, trend and market awareness in order to help develop new commercial concepts and ranges
To develop books from start to finish with an awareness of the end consumer and the costs involved
To commission artwork and freelance design within budget and to a high standard
Project management to ensure final files are delivered on time and on budget
Working with Farshore’s internal systems and processes to ensure efficient workflow
Presenting design concepts, approaches and work in progress to various internal and external stakeholders
To take a design lead and champion certain brands within the department
