Job Description

The Fundraising Associate is responsible for the delivery of activity in support of the fundraising strategy for all community and schools audiences for the Red Nose Day 2022 campaign.

Key responsibilities:

  •  Support the Schools & Community Fundraising Managers to deliver the fundraising strategy, providing input to actively shape fundraising propositions, products, ideas, and materials to ensure opportunities are maximised.

  • Provide high quality relationship management of new and existing key high-value fundraising accounts, including employee fundraising.

  • Work with the Senior Fundraising Associate to develop approaches to identify and secure new high-value fundraising individuals and community groups.

  • Deliver engagement activities for key fundraisers, including project visits and webinars and attend fundraising events on behalf of Comic Relief as required.

  • Work with Fundraising Managers on the development and delivery of digital stewardship opportunities, including social media groups and SMS, that maximise audience conversion and retention.

  • Help to identify and collect inspiring fundraising stories from supporters that can be used in marketing materials and media.

  • Work with the Supporter Care Supervisor to ensure all fundraiser enquiries and complaints are managed effectively and within the agreed timeframes.

  • Monitor and accurately report on deliverables and to help identify insights and trends.

  • Ensure fundraising propositions, communications and resources adhere to legal policy and regulations, working closely with legal and compliance teams.

Person specification

Essential criteria

  • A proactive and positive individual with a ‘can do‘ attitude.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  

  • Experience of developing ideas and delivering activities that engage fundraisers and drive support.

  • Experience delivering excellent stewardship and supporter care.

  • Ability to work autonomously to meet deadlines, with proven organisational and time-management skills.

  • Strong attention to detail – ability to produce work, which is consistently accurate, and which fits the purpose for which it was intended.

Desirable criteria

  • Experience account managing high value fundraisers, including individuals and organisations.

  • Knowledge and understanding of online fundraising platforms, including JustGiving.

  • Experience developing relationships with regional community groups, theatres, religious groups, and universities.

  • Experience delivering Facebook virtual challenges.

  • Experience planning and delivering in person collections.
