Job Description

Purpose of the post

Health Data Research UK requires the services of an experienced User Interface (UI) / Experience (UX) Designer to work within its technology team. You will work across a range of HDR UK technical solutions including the Health Data Research Gateway, the Disease Atlas, Researcher Registry, Phenotype Library and Cohort Discovery.

The role will involve defining the user experience that will inform user journeys, designs and user stories for the HDR UK roadmap. You will help drive innovation in line with business strategies and goals. You will manage and co-ordinate the expectations of multiple interested parties with different requirements and timelines.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that develops an over-arching interoperable infrastructure to ensure that UK health data assets are Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reuseable (FAIR) and accessible for research, innovation and clinical trials. The successful candidate will be expected to work within an Agile software development team, providing design leadership of key functionality and new concepts, primarily focused on the infrastructure and services.  Objectives will include designing interfaces for surfacing datasets collated from multiple partners and sources (metadata federation) in a clear and concise fashion and facilitate the driving of data discovery and access requests across those partners.
