Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity to join the hugely successful International Sales team covering the two Children’s divisions at HarperCollins – Harper Children’s Books and Farshore. The International Sales Team are responsible for bringing colourful, empowering, and dynamic books to children all around the world and we are very excited to take on someone to help us achieve this.
The role will require an extremely high level of organisation and detail, as well as an ability to quickly acquire a high level of competency on company systems and confident use of Microsoft Office applications. They must also exhibit outstanding relationship management and be able to problem-solve.
Most of all we’re looking for a personable, bright individual who can learn quickly and use their own initiative. The candidate will ideally have a junior level of account management experience, a love of Children’s books, excellent inter-personal skills and be able to think creatively and bring new ideas to the table.
The role offers solid experience in the world of Publishing and will sit across the most exciting, bestselling authors and brands in the market, including acclaimed authors such as David Walliams, Michael Morpurgo, Alice Oseman, Holly Jackson, Tahereh Mafi and Lemony Snicket, award-winning picture book authors and illustrators such as Julia Donaldson, Oliver Jeffers and Rob Biddulph, heritage classics such as Winnie-the-Pooh, Paddington Bear, Tintin and Dr. Seuss, as well as exciting gaming brands such as Pokémon, Nintendo and Minecraft.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Director, Senior Sales Manager and Key Account Manager across both Children’s Divisions
To be the primary contact for general day to day queries – i.e., checking information, requests for covers, internal PDFs, manuscripts, requests for sales information
Send cost requests to Production and then collate, process and track all confirmed orders
Deliver a high standard of customer service
Act as liaison between Marketing & Publicity and our customers to help the International Team deliver successful global campaigns
Skills Required
Must have excellent attention to detail
Confidence with learning new systems and processes
Organisation – the ability to manage and track files and data efficiently
Proactiveness – Using initiative, seeking new business, problem-solve
Professional, reliable, able to work quickly under pressure
Keen to progress with an interest in sales
