Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the British Book Award-winning marketing team at 4th Estate and William Collins. We are looking for a creative, confident marketer with experience working across a range of titles in a busy and fast-paced trade marketing team.
As Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for planning and implementing campaigns for some of the most exciting new non-fiction and fiction publishing now. The successful candidate will be an important voice in the Marketing team, bringing their knowledge of the market and prior marketing experience to produce outstanding campaigns and results.
The Team
4th Estate and William Collins are home to internationally acclaimed and bestselling authors such as Hilary Mantel, Max Hastings, Elizabeth Day, Tim Shipman, Jon McGregor, Daniel Kahneman, Sarah Winman, Michiko Kakutani, Nigel Slater, Brian Cox, Christina Lamb and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie alongside some of the most exciting new voices in literature.
Recent campaign highlights include Philippa Gregory’s Normal Women, Monica Heisey’s Really Good, Actually, Guy Shrubsole’s The Lost Rainforest of Britain, Yomi Adegoke’s The List, Daniel Finkelstein’s Hitler, Stalin, Mum and Dad, Coco Mellors’ Cleopatra and Frankenstein, Cecile Pin’s Wandering Souls, Tom Burgis’ Cuckooland, and Anna Jones’ Easy Wins.

We are looking for someone who:
Has experience working in a busy marketing department, experience of working within a trade publisher is desirable
Is an excellent communicator able to lead campaigns and collaborate creatively with a wide variety of stakeholders both internal and external to the business
Is a creative and strategic thinker who is comfortable using consumer insight and market knowledge to produce market-leading campaigns with real impact
Has experience across the full marketing mix, with a particular focus on delivering digital campaigns that demonstrably drive sales
Is ROI-focused, able to effectively measure results and evaluate campaigns, and share learnings with wider team and stakeholders
Enjoys reading widely with an active interest in the publishing industry – with a particular interest in non-fiction (politics, history, science, biography, nature writing) as well as fiction encouraged
Is a team-player, looking to share their learnings with the wider marketing team to foster a culture of shared learning
Has a proven track record delivering digital excellence across a variety of online platforms, both organic and paid, as well as building and maintaining online communities
Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise with confidence
Has an active interest in the latest marketing trends and campaigns from across the book industry as well as the wider entertainment and media sector
