Job Description
Do you have experience working across a range of social channels? Are you passionate about connecting readers and families with their perfect read? Do you want to get stuck into creating high quality content that engages and grows our imprint and author communities?
We are seeking a passionate, creative, collaborative, and entrepreneurial Digital Community Executive to join our friendly, supportive, and inclusive marketing team and boost our digital capabilities.
You will play a pivotal role in growing, engaging and nurturing our online communities, as well as working closely with authors and brands to harness and grow their existing audiences.
The successful candidate will have excellent time management, project management and organisational skills, and a keen interest in children’s and YA books. You don’t need to have worked in publishing before, but you will need to demonstrate creative copywriting, audience engagement experience and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage multiple social media accounts including Facebook, Instagram and TikTok for all divisional imprints including Farshore and Electric Monkey
Manage and optimise Farshore’s imprint and author websites and newsletters
Create high-quality and engaging visual content across all digital channels (social media, newsletter and website), including Instagram Reels and TikToks
Drive community growth and engagement by creating and executing creative social media content campaigns, contests and promotions
Work closely with digital, strategy and analytics teams to maximise direct sales through key platforms
Identify opportunities to increase reach, engagement and following across all social channels
Support the wider marketing team on digital marketing campaigns for key authors, brands and titles
Work with key authors to harness and grow existing audiences online
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to community engagement and social media metrics, providing regular reports and monitoring impact on sales
Be the main point of contact for social media queries, monitoring and responding to comments and queries from our communities
Liaise with customer service and distribution teams to resolve customer queries
Collaborate with sales, PR, editorial and marketing teams to ensure social media content aligns with publishing strategy and timeline
Remain up-to-date about the children’s and wider book market and pay attention to trends, bestsellers and Farshore’s title performance
Contribute to, and attend, author pitch meetings for new acquisitions (where required)
Promote Farshore’s reputation with external stakeholders including authors, illustrators, agents, licensors and customers
Skills and experience:
A passion for children’s and YA books
Proven community and audience engagement experience, including managing multiple social media accounts
Excellent time management, project management and organisational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Acute attention to detail
Strong eye for design
Experience using CRM software e.g. Mailchimp or Sailthru
CMS experience e.g. WordPress
Graphic design software experience e.g. Canva or Photoshop
Basic video editing experience e.g. TikTok, Instagram Reels
Familiarity with social media scheduling tools and analytics platforms
Empathetic and customer-focused approach to handling community interactions
Creative mindset with the ability to generate engaging content ideas
A natural collaborator who loves working as part of the team
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines
