Job Description

​​​​This role is offered on a hybrid contract giving you the opportunity to also work from home three days a week.

Purpose of job:​ 

Comic Relief have an exciting opportunity for a Community Manager to join the team and support the Social Media and Content Manager in moderating the social media channels during this year’s Red Nose Day campaign. 

Key responsibilities will include monitoring and responding to comments and mentions, alongside implementing escalation processes.  

The successful applicant will have previous experience working in social media community management. 

Key responsibilities: ​ 

  • Reporting to the Social Media and Content Manager to support moderation of Comic Reliefs social media channels during the Red Nose Day campaign. 

  • Engage in timely, on-brand conversation with our online audiences in real time. 

  • Provide community management throughout the week across Comic Relief’s social media pages (paid and organic). 

  • Monitor and drive user generated content (UGC), leading on gathering consent so content can be used across Comic Relief’s communications. 

  • Provide the social media team with updates on conversation within the community  

  • Apply appropriate tone of voice while ensuring the brand values are reflected in communication and interaction with supporters via all channels 

  • Follow the Crisis Management Process and in a timely manner highlight complaints to Social Media and Content Manager. 

  • Passing specific customer complaints to the relevant teams in the organisation and working closely with Supporter Services. 

  • Support on writing FAQs in the brands tone of voice. 

  • Where needed support Comic Relief’s social media content plans, including scheduling, posting and copywriting.   

Person specification​ 

​​Essential criteria​ 

  • An understanding of escalation procedures where appropriate.    

  • Audience-focussed and a good understanding of what people do and don’t engage with. 

  • Excellent community management skills – a warm, fun and engaging and writing manner ideally with experience managing a large online community. 

  • Good knowledge of social media trends and how different audiences and demographics interact with social media daily. 

  • Solid knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, LinkedIn and Twitter. 

  • Knowledge of how to use social media moderation tools, ideally Sprout Social. 

  • Experience in social media marketing. 

  • Excellent written/communication skills.
