Job Description

PURPOSE

To deliver the ECB Umpiring Course to prospective new umpires.

YOU’LL HAVE

Essential

  • Experience of teaching, training or tutoring

  • Knowledge and understanding of the Laws of Cricket

  • Knowledge and understanding of current umpiring practice

  • Experience of supporting the development of umpires

  • Understanding of the use of modern technology to facilitate learning

Skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of the application of blended learning

  • Knowledge and understanding of current educational practices

Role specifics:

Mandatory training commitment:

  • Completion of the ECB’s tutor training course; relevant safeguarding qualification; in-date DBS check

Delivery requirements:

  • Must be able to commit to delivering 3 courses per 12 month period.

Course content:

  • Preparation, player and game management, communication and teamwork

Course duration:

  • 7 hours

Kit:

  • ECB kit will be provided and which is required to be worn when delivering the course.
