Job Description

ROLE SUMMARY

The Head Coach will be responsible for leading player selection, the delivery of the U15 Regional programme, and player feedback.

We anticipate a commitment of circa 14 days support per annum.

NOMINATION & SELECTION

  • Work closely with National Talent Manager & Player ID Lead to ensure a fair and robust selection process is administered

  • Confirm final squad (including reserves) to Team Manager for communication to relevant staff by the stated deadline

  • Agree squad lists and provide these to the Team Manager for communication to relevant staff

PROGRAMME DELIVERY

  • Be present for the entire programme

  • Lead coaching activities (to include deployment of Assistant Coach) 

  • Create an outstanding development environment for all players

  • Ensure necessary equipment is available for coaching sessions and matches

  • Be responsible for player safety and welfare, adhering to all safeguarding guidelines

  • Ensure appropriate staff to player ratio is always maintained (2 members of staff for squad of 14)

  • Liaise with designated staff

  • Be responsible for the punctuality and conduct of the team

COMMUNICATION

  • Provide players with on-going performance feedback

  • Complete formal processes for selected and released players

  • Ensure an effective dialogue with county coaches

  • Provide scouting observation notes (as requested by Player ID Lead)

GENERAL

  • Support Team Manager to draft pre-Bunbury programme

  • Participate in meetings relating to coaching delivery, nomination/selection etc.

  • Role model high standards of personal and professional integrity at all times

  • Undertake other duties as requested by the National Talent Manager

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Qualified to at least ECB Advanced Coach (Level 3) or international equivalent

  • Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and Safeguarding Children certification – a DBS disclosure is an impartial and confidential document that details an individual’s criminal record and where appropriate gives details of those who are barred from working with children

  • A valid 1st aid certificate with AED

  • Strong background experience of coaching in boy's talent pathway

  • Experience of working with county talent pathway leads, ideally in the London and South-East region

  • Experience of Parent ID/selection in boy's talent pathway
