Job Description

​​ Please note this is a hybrid role based on the successful candidate working at least two days a week in our London office. Remote contracts would not be considered for this role.

Purpose of job:​ 

Partnerships are at the heart of Comic Relief. The New Partnerships Manager will secure high value income partnerships with foundations and companies. To do so, this role will work closely with the Funding team and other colleagues to develop compelling six and seven figure sum multi-year funding propositions that align with our vision of a just world, free from poverty.  

 

​​Key responsibilities: ​ 

Partnership development 

  • Secure new high value partners for Comic Relief in line with our social change strategy and organisational priorities 

  • Identify prospects and secure meetings through appropriate prospecting methods including outreach and networking 

  • Develop and deliver pitches and proposals for prospects that respond to their objectives and align with our social change strategy 

  • Work closely with the Funding Team to develop funding propositions that will leverage significant income for Comic Relief 

  • Liaise with other stakeholders across Comic Relief in the development of partnership propositions and pitches including colleagues from Legal, Finance, Talent and Content teams 

  • Ensure a smooth transition to Partnership Management team where needed 

 

Legal and Finance  

  • Work with Funding Team and Finance Team to ensure that sufficient core costs and management fees are included in partnership agreements, working closely with Finance and Legal to manage this consistently 

  • To proactively work with the Finance and Legal teams to ensure that all new partnerships have a strong contractual framework

​Essential criteria​ 

  • Proven demonstration of hitting sales/fundraising targets 

  • Proven experience of negotiating and managing large, multi-faceted funding partnerships in the voluntary sector 

  • Exceptional communication, networking, influencing and persuading skills 

  • Building and sustaining effective working relationships both internally and externally 

  • Solid experience of high level stakeholder management 

  • Experience of securing partnerships with UK and International Funding and a knowledge of the NGO funding landscape  

​​Desirable criteria​ 

  • Experience of securing £1m+ multi year partnerships 

  • Minimum of 3 years experience securing partnerships with corporates and/or foundations 

  • Experience of developing funding propositions with impact and funding teams 

  • Knowledge of the impact of poverty on vulnerable people in the UK and around the world
