Job Description

The Senior Digital Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing the strategic plans for digital marketing in conjunction with the Sales & Marketing Director to achieve revenue targets for collins.co.uk. This role works with the wider marketing team to support integrated off and online campaigns and is ideal for an experienced digital marketing manager looking to take the next step and manage an ecommerce site as well as email and social marketing.

Key tasks and accountabilities

  • With Sales & Marketing Director, plan and implement ecommerce strategy

  • Implement website development, working closely with developers and technology team to deliver new functionality.

  • Use analytics tools to report on e-commerce activity.

  • Support online partnerships and advertising including writing ad copy and briefing designs

  • Adding and monitoring onsite promotions and codes, including running usage reports

  • Manage external supplier relationships to ensure website performance is maintained and service level targets met

  • First point of contact for customer website issues and handling/resolving issues where possible

  • With Sales & Marketing Director, define SEO/PPC strategy alongside our external partner, Reload

  • Monitor PPC campaigns and work on website optimisation projects

  • Implement email marketing strategy as well as monitoring campaigns

  • Advise and support the wider team on email strategy and managing campaign schedules

  • In conjunction with Schools and Reference Marketing Directors, oversee the social strategy, developing the content calendar

  • Manage content creation and implementation by the team

  • Use of social media management tools, and moderation across Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and other channels.

  • Ensure marketing campaigns across the division incorporate social media activity as appropriate with realistic outcomes achieved

  • Interpret analytics and report on impact of community and social activity in relation to performance of the site.

  • Line management of a Digital Marketing Assistant and Digital Marketing Intern

  • Work with the rest of the marketing team to ensure that our online destinations are providing what users need. Propose developments and improvements as required and work with the team and suppliers to implement.

Experience required

  • Experience of digital marketing/ecommerce management

  • Established marketing expertise, ideally developed in publishing or professional sectors

  • Proven track record in managing digital marketing campaigns utilising all digital platforms – Ecommerce, social, email, PPC, SEO

  • Using marketing to successfully drive sales

Skills required

  • Content management systems

  • Email Service Providers

  • Social media management tools

  • Google analytics

  • Well-organised with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines

  • Able to supervise freelancers effectively through clear briefing, setting expectations and feeding back constructively and regularly

  • Use initiative to develop new ideas and solve problems
