Job Description
Please note this is a hybrid role based on the successful candidate working at least two days a week in our London office. Remote contracts would not be considered for this role.
PURPOSE OF JOB:
Our Data Analysts play a pivotal role in Comic Relief’s transformation into a being a data-led organisation, working with users across the business to deliver innovative reporting and analytics.
Working in our Data & Analytics team, you’ll be providing key insights to the organisation, making sure that decision makers have the information they need to make our fundraising and grant giving a huge success as well as improving our operational efficiency. You will also play a role in transforming our data architecture to ensure that access to data is efficient and accurate.
Working closely with users across the business, you’ll be mining our data systems to provide rapid feedback on the results of our activity and using data to identify trends and make data-driven recommendations for optimising activity moving forwards.

Key responsibilities:
Develop and deliver reporting and analytics solutions, working closely with relevant stakeholders across the organisation
Work with engineers to prioritise and ensure quality of capture across the data pipeline, particularly with regards to the data models
Perform deep-dive analyses of different areas of Comic Relief and become a source of knowledge for decision-making in support of future activity
Foster a culture of outstanding data literacy across Comic Relief
Support the automation of essential reporting and help the business transition to an insight focused organisation.
Proactively suggest analysis to add value to the business wherever possible
Essential Education and Competencies:
Working knowledge of data modelling and architecture principles, and a desire to develop expertise in this area
SQL, with an understanding of databases and engineering principles
Highly numerate with fluency in statistics and their application to real-world problems
Proactive Data Champion able to accelerate data-driven decision-making at the highest organisation levels
Inquisitive, pragmatic, and exploratory mindset
Experience building dashboards and analysing data using a BI tool, ideally PowerBI
Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to take briefs from multiple teams and prioritise own workload accordingly
Desired Skills and Competencies:
Demonstrable experience of data modelling and architecture
Excellent data storytelling skills, able to condense information into digestible and actionable insight for non-technical stakeholders
Experience of working in grantmaking, finance/operations or fundraising environments
Python or other programming or scripting language
CI/CD, Github
Able to work with open data sources and restful APIs
Experience working in AWS and Azure environments
