Job Description

Purpose of job:

This role will provide in-house graphic design for teams across Comic Relief and its partners, working on a range of on and offline design executions and ensuring the application and consistency of Comic Relief’s visual brand.

Interviews are expected to take place on the 20th/21st of September.

Key responsibilities:

  • Creating designs, artwork and assets for a variety of creative projects, including marketing projects and campaigns, advertising, branding, printed comms, email, web and merchandise.

  • Designing a range of print & digital materials working across multiple platforms from large scale integrated marketing campaigns to merchandise and corporate reports. Ensuring all assets meet the accessibility guidelines of the studio.

  • Following through design projects, from conception to completion: from taking client briefs and idea generation, through to design development, sign-off, artworking, production and delivery.

  • Ensuring projects and assets are produced within the timeframe, to budget and in line with CR brand guidelines.

  • Maintaining the Graphic Design team working systems: folders, job numbers and filing.

  • Being the point of contact for all initial graphic design needs within CR.

Person specification

Essential criteria

  • You have a track record of working across a range of design projects

  • You have brilliant layout and typography skills, with a great eye for detail and ability to easily liaise between print and digital artwork.

  • You are highly competent in using InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and proficient in Office environment

  • You have great organisation skills. You are happy working on multiple projects simultaneously, setting priorities and seeking help from colleagues when required.

  • Excellent communication skills

  • High level of craft and attention to detail

  • A curious and open mind

  • A friendly team player

  • An organised and can-do attitude

  • As the sole in-house designer, you have the ability to work collaboratively, under direction and autonomously in a fast-paced environment with often conflicting demands

  • Experience in a similar busy studio, creating, preparing, proofing and checking (print ready and multi-channel) artwork.

Desirable criteria

  • You have awareness of design best practices, around implementing brand visual identity across various channels and formats.

  • Knowledge in After Effects and animation tools

  • Previous experience in the third-sector.
