Job Description

The Accounts Payables Team Member will sit as part of our finance team based in Bishopbriggs, Glasgow. The purpose of the position is to ensure all company vendor liabilities are accurately recorded, approved and paid on time. This role would be well suited to someone with experience of accounting. Additional language skills are desirable such as Italian, Polish or Nordic languages (please note these are not essential for the role).

Responsibilities include:

Invoice & Payment Processing

  • Mailbox management & query resolution

  • High volume invoice processing

  • Processing manual & automatic payment runs

  • Managing & prioritising key suppliers to maximise discounts and ensure smooth running of production

  • Vendor statement reconciliations

  • Ensure all tasks completed in line with all Approval Matrices, SOX & audit controls

  • 100% audit & SOX compliance

  • Assist with other processing & tasks during busy periods, holiday & absence cover as required by AP team management

Skills and experience:

  • Proficiency in maths

  • Understanding and/or experience of basic accounting principles

  • Accounts Payables experience is desirable but not essential

  • Experience in shared service environment

  • JD Edwards systems knowledge would be advantageous to the role

  • Language skills in any of the following would be beneficial: Italian, Polish, Nordic languages

  • Highly professional – role interacts with all levels of the business

  • Responsible, willing to take ownership

  • Good problem-solving skills

  • Excellent prioritisation skills

  • Detail oriented, accurate

  • Proficient in Excel and Word

  • Able to communicate effectively and professionally on all levels
