Job Description
Applied is the platform for debiased hiring. We’re pushing back against outdated hiring practices by redesigning the process to be more inclusive, more data-driven, and better for candidates. The Role
We’re changing the way hiring is done, for good - and as such, we need to start scaling our Finance function to keep pace with the phenomenal growth rates we’re realising.
As the new member of the team, you'll not only be expanding our existing financial processing and reporting capabilities but also, help bring in new ideas and perspectives that will help improve the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the wider Operations Team (that the Finance function forms a part of).
We have a great starting point: 100s of customers that love us; a mature and standardised accounting process; an easy-to-use tech stack (e.g. Xero, Spendesk, Stripe) and not forgetting, a team obsessed with evolving processes, to ensure scalability and greater effectiveness and efficiency for the wider organisation.
In your first 6 months at Applied you'll be directly involved in:
monthly Management Accounts preparation
financial records maintenance (including registers and journal entries)
invoice creation and submission (including chasing overdue debtors)
bill loading and payables reconciliations
subscription and customer account data / queries troubleshooting

We’re working remotely first and use Desana as our office subscription. Our general aim is to have 2 away days throughout the year so we can all meet in person at least a few times a year.
About Our Finance Team
A note about our team: we place high value on trust, communication, ambition, empathy, accountability, user & data driven decisions, and have a bias towards action and curiosity.
We’re a team who works across the business with many internal and external stakeholders. We understand the business objectives, the needs of the broader team and work with team leads and the CEO to prioritise accordingly. On the Finance team you’ll work closest with the CEO, Heads of Sales, Account Management and People Operations. It’s important to be comfortable working in an early-stage environment where there is uncertainty (fun!) that change can bring. We always try to get the right balance between pushing for growth / innovating and keeping the business out of risk.
