Job Description

PURPOSE

The England Women’s Head Coach (EW Head Coach) will be responsible for leading and developing a world class England Women’s team across all international cricket. The EW Head Coach will develop and implement a playing style, underpinned by a high-performance culture, that inspires future generations of players and supporters.

The EW Head Coach will develop a culture that fosters courage and belief across players and staff ensuring individuals thrive on and off the field. They will bring the team together to achieve a collective purpose fostering respect and trust across the cricket family.

Please note that this role involves extensive national and international travel alongside the England Women’s team touring schedule.

YOU’LL LOVE THIS JOB IF

  • You have shown a real commitment to developing your own coaching skills and craft alongside a minimum Level 3 coaching qualification in cricket 

  • You have a commitment to developing an inclusive and engaging environment and role modelling behaviours that drives a positive dressing room culture   

YOU’LL BE DOING

  • The successful candidate will demonstrate ambitious plans for how they will develop and sustain a successful England Women’s team

  • An outstanding communicator with outstanding people management skills and demonstrable experience of leading within high pressured competitive environments

  • They will lead and inspire a fully integrated inter-disciplinary team delivering individualised support to players and preparing them to succeed on the international stage.

  • Ability to deliver a world leading high performance programme that aligns to the ambitions of the EW cricket team.

  • Provide a clear plan to develop and improve the existing playing group whilst effectively integrating new talent into the team.

  • Be able to role model and advocate for the sport, nurturing and developing positive relationships that will promote and support the long-term development of England Women’s cricket.

  • Be able to work as part of a collaborative England Women’s Cricket Pathway Team to provide clarity on the characteristics, skills and expectations of future England Women’s cricketers.

  • A desire and commitment to develop effective working relationships with those coaching in the women’s domestic game

  • The EW Head Coach will role model the values, integrity and professional standards as part of an aspirational and performance focussed dressing room environment provide necessary data support and tactics.

YOU’LL HAVE

Knowledge

  • Ability to lead and drive a highly effective culture and environment

  • Ability to define a style of play for the England Women’s team and influence current and future international players

  • Evidence of effective decision making under pressure at both an individual and team level

  • Ability to engage media and other key stakeholders within the game

  • Ability to engage with a medium and long term strategic plan that takes the Women’s and Girls game forward

  • Qualified to at least ECB Advanced Coach (Level 3) or international equivalent

  • Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and Safeguarding Children certification – a DBS disclosure is an impartial and confidential document that details an individual’s criminal record and where appropriate gives details of those who are barred from working with children
