Job Description

 PURPOSE

This position will play a key role in contributing to the vision of “exceptional coaching, inspired players and creating a legacy for the game”. The role will lead, design and implement a set of targeted programmes. The new ECB Coach Development strategy places significantly more emphasis on targeted programmes, continuous professional development and bespoke learning and development programmes. This role will be responsible for leading, planning and the delivery of these programmes.  

The programmes will focus on certain coaching groups (e.g., female coaches in the professional game, player to coach cohorts and leadership programmes). Exceptional planning and interpersonal skills are required, alongside a proven track record of having led and facilitated similar initiatives.

YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Implement multiple targeted programmes which support and accelerate the development and impact of coaches and leaders across the game. Intended areas of focus include female coaching representation in the professional game, player to coach development programmes and leadership development initiatives.   

  • Collaborate with the Learning Design and Insights lead, Coach Development colleagues, subject matter experts (SMEs) and leads from the professional and international game ensuring that programmes are well considered, planned and impactful.  

  • Embed modern learning design principles in all programmes. 

  • Collaborate with the Learning Design and Game insights lead to effectively monitor and capture the impact of programmes. 

YOU’LL HAVE

  •  Exceptional interpersonal skills which will allow strong and productive relationships to be developed with coaches, leaders and subject matter experts.  

  • A sound grounding in adult learning principles which ensures all aspects of programme design are maximised.  

  • A proven track record of planning and implementing world class development programmes. 

  • A desire to continually evolve, iterate and operate at the forefront of people development 

  • Experience of effectively monitoring and appraising the impact of development programmes.   

 Desirable skills   

  •  A positive track record of working in education / people development.  

  • A relevant understanding of modern learning principles.  

  • A sound understanding of cricket and coaching.
