Job Description
HarperCollins is one of the UK’s foremost, diverse and innovative multi-platform publishers. Our Sales Operations team are looking for a Senior Sales Operations Executive to manage our physical inventory, with specific responsibilities for the 4th Estate and William Collins divisions. This is a busy position and you must have previous publishing or inventory management experience, excellent data analysis skills and a meticulous eye for detail.
Responsibilities
Maintain stock availability through daily stock and sales data analysis and liaising with sales teams
Suggest appropriate reprint quantities and create reprint meeting agendas, taking into account stock turn, lead times and margins
Liaise with the production department on costings for sign off
Deal with queries business wide regarding customer orders and stock availability.
Act as a key link between various areas in the business, in particular between HarperCollins Distribution, home and export sales and commercial finance
Identify overstocks and run monthly excess stock meetings, actioning pulp and remainder sales where agreed
Suggest titles for Print on Demand and oversee set up in HC systems
Key Skills/Experience
Knowledge of publishing or stock management processes
Commercially aware, with excellent numerical and analytical skills
Confident in data manipulation within Excel
Strong communication skills with the ability to develop productive working relationships with relevant stakeholders
Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail
Ability to learn new processes and systems
A self-confident individual who works well under pressure
Desirable
experience of sales operations or inventory management within a bookselling or publishing environment
Experience of working with Amazon
