Mills & Boon publishes high quality, branded romance fiction, available in print in WHSmith and Tesco or as ebook. This includes Mills & Boon Modern, True Love, Medical and Historical. The Role
The Editorial Assistant will provide administrative and editorial support for the Medical and True Love/Harlequin Romance series and will report to the Senior Editor.
This is a full time role with at least 2 days a week required (specifically Wednesdays and Thursdays) in the London office in the News Building, London Bridge.
Mills & Boon/Harlequin Medical is where you’ll find contemporary romances set in the medical world. Readers can experience the rollercoaster of drama and emotions, ambitions and desires between medical professionals.
Mills & Boon True Love/Harlequin Romance stories are all about relatable and deeply desirable contemporary characters experiencing the intensity, anticipation and sheer rush of falling in love. Readers are swept away by these emotional, glamorous and uplifting romantic escapes.
The ideal candidate for this vacancy will have a passion for the romance genre and be looking to build a career in publishing.
Key Responsibilities
Co-ordinating deadlines, collating and preparing material
Creating/amending prelim pages
Updating monthly schedules, data inputting
Writing end page and writing/reviewing back cover copy
Preparing artwork details
Maintaining filing systems and updating databases
Responding to correspondence and answering author queries, dealing with telephone calls
Liaising with Marketing and Production departments
Assessing unsolicited submissions and drafting reports/replies
Preparing Acquisition Report/Log slush and other team admin duties
Other general administration as required in support of the Historical team, along with the wider Acquisition team
Skills Required
