Job Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven data analyst to support our busy Impact and Evaluation team. the role offers a great opportunity to work in a dynamic, exciting, challenging, and rewarding environment that values innovation, collaboration, and personal growth.
Our data analyst will play a critical part in informing the organization's decision-making process and will support strategic planning and management for impact throughout the Catapult.
The data analyst will deliver high quality, reliable data analysis and insights, as part of the Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting function which sits in the Impact and Evaluation team. The role is responsible for designing and developing analytical solutions using a variety of technologies and techniques and will support in the production of reports and ensuring data is presented effectively to meet the needs of diverse stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:
Perform data analysis with high accuracy and deliver insights for progress and performance reporting.
Identify and collaborate with stakeholders responsible for data to ensure data meet reporting criteria.
Establish reporting and monitoring processes collaboratively to track progress towards reporting goals and impacts.
Create solutions through data analysis and contribute to impact analysis and evaluation studies.
Create and manage data systems for reporting needs.
Skills and experience required:
A proven ability to analyse and present complex information in an accessible way.
Broad understanding of analytics, data science and technology with an ability to use approved approaches to identify insights, trends and patterns.
Experience in data management, storage, and cleansing, as well as the ability to verify the integrity of data used for analysis.
Ability to generate datasets from a variety of sources of structured and unstructured information.
Experience developing automated reporting and dashboards.
Ability to identify opportunities for process efficiencies and implement adequate solutions.
Competent user of Microsoft Excel and SQL, with ability to use quantitative and/or qualitative data evaluation software and /or data visualisation programmes (e.g., Python/R, PowerBI, Tableau, etc)
Capability to communicate complex concepts and data patterns to non-technical audiences.

You are conducting high quality, reliable data analysis and deliver insights to inform progress reporting to our funders, senior management, and the board.
Working alongside colleagues in the Impact and Evaluation team, you will identify what data is needed for monitoring and evaluation of our outputs, outcomes, and impacts, and engage with data owners across the organisation to ensure that the data they provide meet the criteria for reporting against our agreed indicators.
The postholder will ensure that agreed reporting and monitoring processes are implemented to track progress towards delivering intended impacts. This includes working with colleagues to ensure that our data gathering, storage and management systems are set up and maintained to continuously meet these needs.
You will contribute to project and programme impact analysis and evaluation studies across a range of our programme areas. This is a diverse role that supports strategic decision making by increasing the organisation’s understanding of how we are achieving impact from our interventions with businesses in the satellite applications sector.
The purpose of our team:
The Evaluation and Impact team are responsible for embedding planning and management for Impact throughout the Catapult. We support strategy development, establish data gathering/results frameworks and deliver qualitative and quantitative reporting, analysis and learning to both provide evidence of progress towards our organisational objectives, and inform future decision making. In doing this we draw on a range of internal and external data sources and work collaboratively with business engagement, strategy and delivery teams across the entire organisation.
